How to Prepare Your Device for Sale

Follow these 3 steps to protect your data and ensure a fast payment.

CRITICAL: We cannot buy devices that are locked to your personal account (iCloud, Google, or Samsung). Following these steps is required to complete the sale.

Step 1: Back Up Your Data

Once we receive your device, all data will be securely and permanently erased. Please save any photos, files, or contacts you want to keep.

  • Use a service like iCloud, Google Drive, or OneDrive.
  • Or, transfer your files to an external hard drive or another computer.

Step 2: Sign Out of Your Accounts (The Most Important Step)

You MUST sign out of your accounts *before* you reset the device. This removes the anti-theft lock.

For iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks (iCloud):

  1. Go to Settings > [Your Name].
  2. Scroll down and tap Sign Out.
  3. Enter your Apple ID password to turn off "Find My" and tap Sign Out.
  4. (On Mac) Go to System Settings > Apple ID > Sign Out.

For Android Phones & Chromebooks (Google):

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts.
  2. Find your Google Account and tap Remove Account.
  3. Confirm the removal.

For Samsung Devices (Google & Samsung Accounts):

  1. First, remove your Google Account (see steps above).
  2. Then, go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts.
  3. Tap on your Samsung Account and select Remove account.

Step 3: Factory Reset Your Device

After you have backed up your data and signed out of your accounts, you can perform a factory reset to wipe all personal data.

Windows 10 & 11:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Recovery.
  2. Click Reset PC and choose Remove everything.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts.

macOS (Ventura or newer):

  1. Go to System Settings > General > Transfer or Reset.
  2. Click Erase All Content and Settings.

iPhones & iPads:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device].
  2. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

Android Devices:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Reset options.
  2. Tap Erase all data (factory reset).
