How to Generate a Battery Report

A good battery health report can increase your offer! Here's how to find it.

On Windows 10 & 11

  1. Click the Start Menu and type cmd.
  2. Right-click on **"Command Prompt"** and select **"Run as administrator"**.
  3. In the black window that appears, type this exact command: powercfg /batteryreport
  4. Press **Enter**.
  5. It will save a file. You can find it at the path it shows, usually: C:\Windows\system32\battery-report.html
  6. Open that file (it will open in your web browser).
  7. Screenshot the top section titled **"Installed batteries"**. We need to see the **"Design Capacity"** and **"Full Charge Capacity"**.

On macOS (MacBooks & iMacs)

  1. **Hold down the `Option` key** on your keyboard.
  2. While holding `Option`, click the **Apple icon** () in the top-left corner.
  3. Click **"System Information..."** (it will be the first item).
  4. A new window will open. On the left side, under the "Hardware" section, click **"Power"**.
  5. Take a screenshot of this "Power" screen. We need to see the **"Health Information"** section, which shows the **"Cycle Count"** and **"Condition"**.
