How to Generate a Battery Report
A good battery health report can increase your offer! Here's how to find it.
On Windows 10 & 11
- Click the Start Menu and type
cmd. - Right-click on **"Command Prompt"** and select **"Run as administrator"**.
- In the black window that appears, type this exact command:
powercfg /batteryreport - Press **Enter**.
- It will save a file. You can find it at the path it shows, usually:
C:\Windows\system32\battery-report.html - Open that file (it will open in your web browser).
- Screenshot the top section titled **"Installed batteries"**. We need to see the **"Design Capacity"** and **"Full Charge Capacity"**.
On macOS (MacBooks & iMacs)
- **Hold down the `Option` key** on your keyboard.
- While holding `Option`, click the **Apple icon** () in the top-left corner.
- Click **"System Information..."** (it will be the first item).
- A new window will open. On the left side, under the "Hardware" section, click **"Power"**.
- Take a screenshot of this "Power" screen. We need to see the **"Health Information"** section, which shows the **"Cycle Count"** and **"Condition"**.
